PNA HIGHLIGHTS & HAPPENINGS
Gumshoe is slang for detective. It's also the name of a FUNdraising walk that's ending this month after 16 years and more than $74,000 raised for local nonprofits. "Why do the Gumshoe? Well, purchasing an entry form raises money for deserving nonprofits, solving your way through the 30-clue 5K walk provides great mental and physical exercise, and completing the detective walk qualifies you for the $10-$100 gift card prize drawing at the end," shared the Gumshoe Answer Man, who is moving on to a new community project, KinderReminder. The last Gumshoe
runs from Aug. 5 to Aug. 21 and benefits the Greenwood Elementary School PTA, the Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church Food Bank, and our Greenwood Senior Center.
Our partner Mirror Stage's Contexpo event series creates space to learn about important topics through art and live experiences at the Phinney Center. The new Contexpo explores two themes, Veterans and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, with an art exhibit, yoga and mindfulness workshop, open mic, and a writing for self-care workshop. Get ready for a weekend of free self-care and healing during Contexpo on Aug. 12 and 13!

We deeply appreciate everyone who gave blood at the Bloodworks Northwest drives at the Greenwood Senior Center in July. More than 70 donors gave blood, which is amazing! "From people battling cancer and healing from traumatic injuries to new mothers in distress, your support equals hope and life. We, and all the families we serve, thank you," shared Bloodworks Northwest. The next blood drive at the GSC is on Fri, Sept. 9 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Make an appt to give blood then!
Can you provide first aid, take care of injuries, help a choking infant, and stop cardiac arrest? Learn those skills and more in this injury prevention-focused course.
