Many of us have returned back to work over the last couple of weeks, some of us kicking and screaming, with our new year’s resolutions no doubt already fading into oblivion! With the competition scene already kicking off for some of you, I hope the break gave you plenty of time to review all the discipline sport rule changes that occur in January, found at http://www.equestrian.org.au/rules Di Saunders, Pathway Manager - Officials. OFFICIALS PATHWAYInformation on becoming an Official now has a dedicated page, and the addition of Pathway information for all disciplines will be completed over the next few months. Please refer to: http://www.equestrian.org.au/officials/getting-started. The Australian Sports Commission has recently updated their online e-learning “Community Officiating General Principles” and EA will be recommending this generic unit be completed by all new Officials prior to commencing their EA officiating pathway. Existing officials are also encouraged to complete this unit, which satisfies risk management requirements. FEI PARA-EQUESTRIAN STEWARDS REFRESHERBoneo Park hosted an FEI Dressage Para-Equestrian Steward Courses alongside the CPEDI on the 24th January. Our Australian FEI Para-Equestrian Stewards and guest Para-Equestrian Steward from Sweden were guided by Course Director Alison King (HKG). Veronica Steward (AUS) assisted. Attending are L-R: Veronica Steward, Bronwyn Hew, Lisa Baker, Jaana Alvespaar (DEN), Susanne Tuck, Chris Wallis, Gregory Steward LILO FORE QUEENSLAND VISITInternationally renowned Dressage rider, coach and administrator Lilo Fore will be conducting a masterclass/rider clinic in Queensland next month. The event has already attracted plenty of interest from all over the world with some participants travelling across from New Zealand to take part.

As part of the re-accreditation process, all officials must attend an Update (Refresher) Seminar. These seminars include discussions on rule changes, as well as current discipline-specific items that impact on equipment, safety, risk management etc., as well as meeting Judging appointment requirements.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR WEGVolunteer inquiries are currently being accepted for the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon 2018 (WEG). Expected to be the largest sporting event in North America in 2018, the Games will be held at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) on September 11-23, 2018 in Tryon, N.C.
