WELCOME

Welcome to the sixth and first 2018 Edition of our Officials' newsletter, IN THE FIELD. Here you can read about news & updates for all our officials and volunteers giving their time, around Australia and across the globe!

Many of us have returned back to work over the last couple of weeks, some of us kicking and screaming, with our new year’s resolutions no doubt already fading into oblivion!

With the competition scene already kicking off for some of you, I hope the break gave you plenty of time to review all the discipline sport rule changes that occur in January, found at http://www.equestrian.org.au/rules

Di Saunders, Pathway Manager - Officials.

OFFICIALS PATHWAY

Information on becoming an Official now has a dedicated page, and the addition of Pathway information for all disciplines will be completed over the next few months. Please refer to: http://www.equestrian.org.au/officials/getting-started. The Australian Sports Commission has recently updated their online e-learning “Community Officiating General Principles” and EA will be recommending this generic unit be completed by all new Officials prior to commencing their EA officiating pathway.  Existing officials are also encouraged to complete this unit, which satisfies risk management requirements.
