Bright News

Love is in the air! I am in love with the new website and all the wonderful changes happening at Anne Bright Designs. A few days ago we were at The Road to California and now we are headed out to Birds of a Feather in Virginia. The show season is in full swing for me now. I hope that you'll be able to make one of the shows we'll be at this year. I have expanded from my normal 4 shows to 8! Whew, I'll be doing some traveling this year.

I would also like to take a moment to thank all of my customers for sticking with me during these fluctuating times. It's been a bumpy road.

Sneak peek at the new site!

The first image shows the login screen where you can create an account to checkout faster, store multiple shipping addresses, and view and track past orders!

The second image shows how you'll be able to shop for new designs. Need a block? No problem, just search for the design you like. How will you know what design you like? There will be a catalog for each of those categories.

Quilter of the Month - Nancy Ottaviano

My name is Nancy Ottaviano and I am the mother of two amazing teenagers, one daughter and one son, both hockey players.  I am married to a wonderful man who is my biggest supporter and without whom, my dream of establishing an online quilt shop would not have become a reality.

As a second generation quilter, I created LoveQuilting.com as a portal to share my passion for not just the luscious fabrics available today, but also for the process of creating wonderful quilt projects.  Having spent half of my life on one coast, and the other half on the other coast, I have an affinity for the beach, which inspires me to carry a large collection of beach/nautical fabrics, including exclusive free patterns and kits with a beach/nautical theme.

The beach and quilting are two of life’s passions that I shared with my mom.  When she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2008, quilting became my therapy.  Through two very special people we met at National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, I donate quilts and purses to be auctioned as fund raisers through the NOCC and Kaleidoscope of Hope.  I also donate on average 20 quilts per year to a Children’s Hospital in New Jersey, all on behalf of my mom, who lost her battle in 2010.

Wow! There have been so many wonderful quilts submitted through Facebook and Yahoo it was difficult to select just one. So we selected 3! As always one quilter was selected to receive a $50 gift certificate to www.AnneBright.com. Then two more quilters were selected to receive $15 gift certificates.

Continue posting and sharing your quilts, the team and I love looking at them. You all do amazing work.

How to enter!

First, load pictures of your quilt onto Yahoo or Facebook. Then, write a short message to the group letting us know you uploaded pictures. Make sure to include the Anne Bright designs you used!

The winner(s) will be notified through email and through our monthly newsletter! Happy Quilting!

Whole-cloth Design

Little Sisters make the best custom designs! There are so many ways to use the continuous triangles! Each piece can be used as a b2b and as borders as well as setting triangles if you are willing to clip a few threads. Each set comes with multiple sizes so that YOU can decide which of your blocks you want to pop up using the lighter density or to stitch down, like a texture! The back of the quilt is the quilters! You can make great wholecloths by just recreating the back of a well stitched quilt!

It is best if you can mix two design sets so that they can compliment each other. You don't want the density the same throughout your quilt! You may want to select two similar design, you can use the 2 block in the owls to make them POP
or get more attention and a 4 block of the Splash of Love to compliment it.

I LOVE the way these two sets compliment each other! The Splash of Love has the feel of a feather as well as the feeling of the owls soft round eyes! The heart in Who Loves you is definite while the heart in the Splash of Love is less  direct...there are actually 2 different hearts around the swirls!
