Established in 2021, the Regional Chair’s Niagara Impact Awards recognize community members and organizations who have made significant efforts to help build a more resilient and welcoming region. Residents are encouraged visit niagararegion.ca to complete a nomination for an individual, business or non-profit organization that has shown community spirit while demonstrating the value of volunteerism. Previous NIA winners represented a diverse group of residents who contributed in various ways to help their neighbours, local businesses, and the larger community. Award recipients made a meaningful impact on Niagara’s social economic wellbeing as well as the overall health of the region. Also include in the Impact Awards program is the prestigious T. Roy Adams Humanitarian of the Year Award. This award is bestowed annually to a Niagara resident who best exemplifies former Regional Councillor Adams’ values and dedication to community service: a person who sees volunteerism as integral part of their life. Nominations will close on March 4. Award recipients will be announced during the 2024 State of the Region Address on March 27, 2024.
