Apply for FUMCOG Community GrantsThe Community Needs Committee of the First United Methodist Church of Germantown seeks grant proposals for projects that promote social justice or community empowerment, especially (but not exclusively) in Northwest Philadelphia. Proposals are reviewed by a committee of church members, and selection criteria include the size of the population to be served, the nature of the services provided and expected benefits to the community. Previous grants were used to help a legal clinic that serves homeless Germantowners, a newly forming Cub Scout pack, an interfaith coalition against gun violence, and a “church without walls” that serves homeless people along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
