INI NEWS BULLETIN
March 2021

Dear friends, associates and supporters of INI,

Welcome to the March 2021 edition of our monthly news bulletin. This month has been a full one for the Institute, thanks in large part to the "Applicable resurgent asymptotics: towards a universal theory" (ARA) programme. Having begun on the first of this month, a number of signficant seminars have now been held and many of these are now available to view via the website. We hope they prove stimulating.

We also have a selection of events due to be held in the coming months, all of which are currently open to applications. We will be sending more information about these individually in due course, but for now here is an overview of their titles and dates for your interest. In all cases these are "precursor" workshops to programmes delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.

> Verified software: from theory to practice [10-14 May]: apply by 11/04/21

> New connections in number theory and physics [24-28 May]: apply by 02/05/21

> Verified software: tools and experiments [7-11 June]: apply by 03/05/21

> New horizons in dispersive hydrodynamics [21-25 June]: apply by 23/05/21

Beyond this, below you find details of...

  • a new "welcome" video for virtual INI programme participants, and...
  • a final reminder of our Cambridge Festival talk by Dr Emily Shuckburgh!

Thanks as always for your continued support.

(above) INI staff Megan Snow and Dan Aspel present a new introductory video to the Institute.

VIDEO: an introduction to INI for virtual programme participants.

If you're attending an INI programme virtually, what should you expect from your visit? This short video provides the answers. You'll see the main working space of the Institute, learn how it has been recreated online, and discover a rich and fulfilling interactive experience however you're able to take part.

With the Institute's activities being entirely virtual for the time being, and potentially hybrid in nature for the foreseeable future, it's essential that online participation leads to the same experiences and collaborative outcomes as the physical.

To highlight all of the ways in which INI has adapted to the digital space, and to showcase the physical equivalent to the many participants now joining us online, we have created the video linked above and below. This is the first of a series of media projects with Dragonlight Films, and we look forward to sharing more with you in the near future.
