Principal's Message Dear Families, It is finally over, we are all so pleased to have everyone back! Thank you to parents, students and all St John’s staff for their patience and support over the last 8 weeks. It was great to see students walking into school yesterday looking happy to be back. I hope everyone enjoyed the Long Weekend and we are all refreshed ready for the last 3 weeks of the term. Thank you to all parents who have respected our new rules and waved your child/ren goodbye at the gate. Also, thank you to Teddy Dabernig and his family for the lovely chocolates that they sent in for the staff, we will enjoy them! Our new sanitising regime is going well and students are being very responsible about sanitising their hands and giving each other space. Please be reminded that under new guidelines from the Chief Health Officer, students who are unwell must not come to school. IMPORTANT CHANGE TO PICK UP TIMES Students who are collected by an adult with surnames beginning with A-K are to picked up at 3.00pm. Students with their surname beginning with L-Z are to be picked up at 3.10pm. Please make sure that your child knows which entrance they will be collected from. After school care, bike riders/walkers and bus students will all exit the school at 3.15pm. Lunch Orders - Please note that the Lunch Order menu has been modified, please only order what is advertised here in this newsletter. Wednesday is still Lunch Order Day. Parking on Anderson Street - Last week we were notified by Victoria Police that they intend to do “spot checks” on where people are parking at the front of the school. Please note that you cannot park near the school crossing when the flags are displayed. Parking close to the flags, decreases the visibility of people using the crossing. Thank you for your co-operation in this important safety matter. Parent/Teacher Interviews and Reports - The Parent/Teacher interviews that were planned for the end of this Term, have been postponed until the end of Term 3. Please feel free to email your child’s teacher if you have any concerns to organise a Google Meet or telephone meeting. Semester One reports will be released in Week 11, through the Parent Access Module. Leadership Hoodies - It was great to finally have our Year 6 leaders back at school yesterday and be able to present them with their Hoodies. We know that they will wear them with pride. Have a great week! Libby Hamilton St John's acknowledges the Taungurung People as the traditional custodians of the land on which we work, play and live. Calendar of Events
Religious Education Trinity Sunday Source of Love, you revealed the wonderful mystery of God by sending into the world the Word who speaks all truth and the Spirit who makes all things holy. May we mirror the love that we see in God, Father, Son and Spirit, so that we may bring harmony into our world in the unity of one God for ever and ever. Amen.
