Niagara Prosperity Initiative grant recipients announced

March 28, 2025

Niagara Region has announced the recipients of the 2025-2027 Niagara Prosperity Initiative grant. This round of funding focuses on six areas for investment: Indigenous Well-Being, Mental Health and Addiction, Income and Employment, Housing and Early Child Development, and Food Security.

The selected grant recipients will help implement projects to address the areas of focus outlined in the Niagara Poverty Reduction Strategy. The strategy sets a framework for working together to prevent and end poverty and to increase well-being in Niagara based on local needs and best or promising practices.

The 2025-2027 grant recipients for each area are:

Indigenous Well-Being

Agency: Niagara Peninsula Aboriginal Area Management Board
Project: Kowaamjigewin

Mental Health and Addiction

Agency: Regional Essential Access to Connected Healthcare (REACH) Niagara 
Project: PATH – Program for Addiction Treatment and Healthcare (Recipients of Social Assistance)

Agency: Gateway Residential and Community Support Services
Project: Intensive Outreach Team (Situation Tables)

Income and Employment

Agency: Workforce Collective
Project: Bridges to Prosperity

Housing and Early Child Development

Agency: Birchway Niagara
Project: After Care Support 

Food Security

Agency: The Bridge
Project: The Bridge Food Recovery Expansion 

Agency: Community Care West Niagara
Project: FEED Niagara 

These agencies and their respective projects will continue the Niagara Prosperity Initiative’s legacy of bringing forward beneficial programs that help our communities prosper.

The Niagara Prosperity Initiative began in 2008 and provides annual investment in organizations that support poverty reduction and prevention activities.
