The Regent Digest - EVENTS FOCUS SPECIAL

 
 

OLYMPICS LAUNCH

This coming Friday 5th August, all College students will participate in an event to mark the commencement of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Teachers have been preparing some activities, including class mascots, which will be included in a small parade within College grounds. 

*Parents, please note there will be no College assembly this coming Wednesday 3rd August. 

 

 

GRANDPARENTS AFTERNOON

Grandparents are invited to attend Regent College for a special grandparents event. There will be some musical presentations by select students and choir, followed by grandparents enjoying afternoon tea in the company of their grandchildren.

  • THURSDAY 18TH AUGUST
  • Recommended arrival time: 1.15pm (parking available on basketball courts) Lift available for upstairs hall.
  • Commencement: 1.30pm
  • Finish: 3pm
 
 
 
 

CROSS COUNTRY TRIALS

Regent families are invited to attend and support students from Years 2-5 as they participate in trials for the inter school Cross Country. 

Although all Years 2-5 students will attend, please note that student participation is voluntary. This process will be used to support identification of students for the inter-school event. 

  • FRIDAY 19TH AUGUST

  • Years 2,3,4 from 12:15pm
  • Years 5,6 from 12.30pm
  • Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the day and all completed by 1pm.

  • Dress up as your favourite book character.

BOOK WEEK

Each year, across Australia, The Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) brings children and books together celebrating Children’s Book Week. This year's theme: Australia! Story Country.

Across the week 20th-26th August, students will participate in various reading events associated with this  focus.

The week will conclude with an invitation to all students (K-6) to dress up in costume as their favourite book character. There will be a whole College parade during the day. 

 
 

FATHER'S DAY

Fathers of Kindergarten and Pre-primary students are invited to attend a special after-school event at Regent College.

ITALIAN DAY

Italian Day begins with a special focus during the weekly assembly, followed by some fun and scrumptious gelato for students to enjoy.  

  • WEDNESDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER
  • This year students are invited to wear the National colours of Italy (green, white and red). Full dress-up costumes are not necessary this year.
  • Students will need to provide money for the cost of the gelato. More details to follow
