PNA HIGHLIGHTS & HAPPENINGS

Our Día de los Muertos Celebration returns this Saturday

Día de los Muertos Celebration graphic

Our Día de los Muertos Celebration will honor the dead and celebrate life this Sat, Nov. 5 from 11 am to 3 pm. Local poet and teacher Raúl Sánchez will lead a dedication to the deceased at our community ofrenda. Bring photos and mementos before or during the event.

Our traditional Mexican celebration features performances by CeAtl Tonalli, Bailadores de Bronce, Grupo Folklorico Citlali, and preschoolers from Jump On Languages. Enjoy craft activities and purchase food and drink from local taquerias Luna Azul and La Conasupo.

Support our community programs and win big in our raffle! Raffle tickets cost $5 each, or $20 for 5 tickets. Prizes include a basket of Mexican goodies, gift cards to La Conasupo and El Chupacabra, and a T shirt and sugar skulls from La Conasupo.

We still need volunteers for this free community event. Volunteer today!

Mission Moments

Children trick or treat on PhinneyWood Ave during the Hunger Goblin Trick or Treat & Food Drive on Oct. 29.

We loved seeing hundreds of kids and families out enjoying our Hunger Goblin' Trick or Treat & Food Drive on Oct. 29. A huge thank you to all of the businesses who donated their time and treats and to everyone who participated and donated food!

We smashed last year's record donation total with more than 1,200 lbs. of food collected for FamilyWorks and our Hot Meal Program! This drive will make a big difference in the fight against hunger and help us serve our neighbors in need.

PNA Village members and staff tour the Ballard Food Bank.

The PNA Village team and members recently toured the Ballard Food Bank. They were in awe of the care that goes into their space, varied services, and how they make sure that everyone who walks in feels welcome and deserving. Check out our blog to learn about how NW Seattle food banks are nourishing the community, and get involved!
