Dear , Earlier today, the NSW Government announced a lockdown for the Dubbo Regional local government area commencing 1pm, Wednesday 11 August 2021. Thank you for your patience as we have worked through the announcements to determine any impacts on the delivery of audiology services. The lockdown is expected to end at midnight on 19 August. Its conditions will be the same as the lockdown affecting Greater Sydney and its surrounds. See here for further information. Medical care is stated as a "reasonable excuse" for people to leave their homes. As per the current lockdown orders, members can continue to provide audiology services to clients as "Authorised Workers" (see a further definition here), but the government is advocating the use of telehealth where feasible and is encouraging health providers to only see clients face-to-face whose health is likely to deteriorate if they don't receive in-person care. Please stay safe, and if there is anything we can do to assist you during this time, please don't hesitate to contact the office on 03 9940 3900 or email: info@audiology.asn.au Yours sincerely, Dr Tony Coles CEO ![]() Audiology Australia |
