Beautiful Resistance Tour 2016

Saturday 3rd September – Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, London

14 young refugees from Alrowwad Centre for Culture & Arts in Bethlehem, Palestine are currently touring the UK experiencing life beyond the constraints of their daily lives inside a refugee camp.

As the Beautiful Resistance Tour continues, the young people from Alrowwad Youth Theatre will join Amos Trust friend Martyn Joseph and singer-songwriter Grace Petrie for a very special night of music, dance and film in central London.

Alrowwad uses dance, music and film to help young Palestinian refugees to break the cycle of violence and oppression that they experience daily. They call it, 'Beautiful Resistance'.

The UK tour is showcasing Alrowwad’s take on Palestinian Dabka Dance and is featuring a wide-range of other special guests.

"As Palestinian refugees, we don’t have the luxury
of despair. We choose Beautiful Resistance."

Abdelfattah A Abusrour,
Alrowwad Centre for Culture & Arts

And if you cant wait to see the Alrowwad Youth Theatre perform, we'll be showcasing them at 'Café Palestina' at this year's Greenbelt Festival on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon at 14:30 in the Playhouse venue. For tickets, please visit the Greenbelt website.

Do come and say hello if you're going to Greenbelt this year – we'll be around the site doing all sorts of things.

Thank you.
