SEC INDOOR ARENA SURFACE TOP UP
The Indoor arena received a top up last week due to the arena surface depth reducing over the past years to a level that was close to exposing the limestone base.
The top up involved the addition of 40mm of sand and 6 bales of Soiltex fibre. The arena was first levelled to ensure the original surface was evenly spread, then the sand was added to a depth of 40mm and levelled followed by spreading the Soiltex fibre.
Adding the fibre required mixing of the surface with a “Harley rake” as the fibre initially wants to clump together. The mixing has the effect of loosening the surface, once the fibre had been mixed it required several days of harrowing with tynes to ensure an even distribution of the fibre again tending to loosen the surface.
Now that the fibre and sand are mixed evenly we are in the process of watering and rolling the surface more heavily to increase the compaction to a level greater that we had previously. This will ensure the Indoor has a consistent riding surface.

DRESSAGE - NEWS

SAVE THE DATE! - DRESSAGE WA PRESENTS REGIONAL RIDERS RUMBLE
When: 2nd June 2019
Where: State Equestrian Centre, Brigadoon
This is a callout to regional and country dressage riders!
A dressage competition with a difference.
As well as competing for yourself, you will also be competing for your region!
The top four scores from each region are taken and added together, and whoever gets the highest wins Regional Champion!
Dressage WA has noted the fact that it can be sometimes daunting for country riders to travel so far, and compete against metro riders who have more access to metro facilities and competitions, and have come up with this innovative idea for an event with you in mind! In order to enter this event, you must live 100 km and further from Perth city.
You also need EA membership, in either category of Adult Rider, Participant or Competitor.
We already have some amazing sponsors, please see our website link on Dressage WA website https://www.dressagewa.org/regional-riders-rumble.html
Entries are now open on Nominate and close on the 15 May, or whenever classes fill...get in quick to secure your tests 😊.
This weekend is set to be a blast!
