St John's School Newsletter Term 1 Week 1 St John's is a Child Safe School where all children are respected and are protected from harm. Principal's Message Dear Parents, Welcome to 2021. I hope that everyone has had a restful holiday and was able to spend time with family and friends after the events of 2020. Today we welcome 26 eager Foundation students and their families into our school community and we wish them well as they begin their educational journey with us. Covid Protocols - Everyone entering the school site is still required to sanitise and staff will still be cleaning high use areas daily. If you are on school property longer that 15 mins you are required to register at the front office, where there is a QR code or a log book. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our staff and students safe. School Fees - Thanks to those families who logged onto PAM and nominated their preferred method of fee payment for the year. Fees will be billed in mid February and direct debits are scheduled to begin on the 11th of February. Please speak to myself or Andrea if you have any queries on 5795 2937. School Fees are part of your child's contract of enrolment. We cannot offer free education. Working With Children Card - If you hold a current Working with Children Card we would like to have a copy on our file. Please take a photo and email it to principal@sjeuroa.catholic.edu.au or next time you are at school we can copy it for you. Drink bottles - Eventhough students are now allowed to use the bubble taps, each student will need to bring their own named drink bottle to school so they can have their drink bottle handy and stay hydrated during class. Sport days - Students will need to wear their sport unform and runners on the following days: Year 5 & 6 on Wednesdays. Foundation to Year 4 on Thursdays Opening School Mass - Our Opening school Mass will be held in the Mercy Centre this Friday 29th January at 12:30pm. Parents, family members and Parishioners are welcome to attend but will need to sign in, wear a mask and socially distance. Assemby - On Fridays at 2.45pm we will hold our whole school student led assemblys in the Mercy Centre. Each week a class will be presenting a prayer and some work. Parents and family members are welcome to attend but will be required to wear a mask, sanitise and register their attendance via the QR code or log book. Parent/Teacher interviews - Parent/Teacher interviews will be held next Monday 1st, Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd February from 3:30-5.00pm. These interviews are designed so teachers can learn more about their students by providing an opportunity for parents to talk confidentially with their child’s homeroom teacher. Students are not required to attend these meetings. Parents can book an interview time by logging on to PAM (Parent Access Module) Foundation Rest Days - Foundation students are not required to come to school on Wednesdays until after the March Long Weekend. School Closure Days - Last year the staff were to attend a retreat at Flowerdale, however due to the pandemic this was postponed. All staff will be attending the retreat on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th February. The school will be closed to students on these day. TheirCare will be offering full day care for these days. Please log on to their website to register your child. Lunch Orders - Fare Enough will be supplying lunch orders on Wednesdays, please refer to the menu in this newsletter.
