145 Dogs and cats vaccinated at free rabies clinic in Welland

June 25, 2026

Niagara Region Public Health hosted a free rabies vaccination clinic on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Welland, in partnership with VCA Canada.

The clinic provided free rabies vaccinations for eligible pets, helping protect animals and residents from rabies and supporting equitable access to vaccination by reducing barriers to care, including cost and difficulty accessing veterinary services.

A total of 145 dogs and cats were vaccinated during the clinic. This year, Niagara Region Public Health introduced pre-registration and appointments filled quickly, reflecting strong community interest in accessible rabies vaccination services.

Photos from the clinic are available for media use.
