Tavern on the Tee Opens Today!

We are happy to announce the Middlebury College Dining Services Team will be taking over the Tavern on the Tee operation starting this Friday, May 7th.   We are excited for the opportunity to serve the golf course members and customers.  Our menu will offer a variety of breakfast items, appetizers, fresh made salads, sandwiches and burgers..  All of our salad dressing will be made in-house and our rolls will be freshly baked in the college bake shop. As we progress to the summer months we will also offer a variety of daily food and drink specials along with cart service on the course. Starting this Friday, our hours of operation will reflect the golf course pro shop, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, so come in and check us out.

Ralph Myhre Junior Golf Camps

 

Don't miss out on the 2021 Ralph Myhre Golf Course Junior Golf Camps & Clinics through the Middlebury Recreation department.

Kids ages 8 - 16, come explore the great game of golf with all your friends at The RMGC Golf Camp! The schedule runs Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 12 PM and includes instruction on all the fundamentals, rules and etiquette, fun and games, a snack break and lots of time on the golf course. Learn how to play the game now and enjoy it for the rest of your life!

Men's State Day Monday May 24

 

Vermont Golf Association State Days are “mini” one day tournaments held on various days throughout the state during the summer.  State Days are an inexpensive, fun way to play golf at different courses around the state while participating in low-key friendly competition.

Ralph Myhre will be hosting our annual men's state day Monday May 24.  The cost for members is $15.00 and $30.00 for non members.  Players can register through the VGA website.

NOW IS THE BEST TIME TO TRY SOMETHING NEW!

You do not need to be a great golfer to play!  This is a fun way to get your feet wet and try some friendly match play!

ALL MEMBERS SHOULD SIGN UP - IT'S FREE!

Sign-up deadline is May 30th

The first round by June 13

The 2nd round by June 27

Semi-Final matches by July 11

Final Matches by August 1.

This is an individual match play tournament, with matches being arranged by the players at their convenience. Those who lose in the first round will be placed in a consolation bracket. This way all players will have at least two matches.

Flights

Championship - Gross only – Blue Tees

First – Handicapped – White Tees

Women’s – Handicapped – Red Tees

Senior – Handicapped – Gold Tees

Junior – Handicapped – Under 18

The higher handicapped player receives the full difference in course handicap between the two players; the lower handicapped player plays at scratch.

For example: A player with a course handicap of 17 receives four strokes from a player with a course handicap of 13. The player receives them on the first four allocated handicap-stroke holes.

Ping Fitting Day Friday June 11

 

Mark your calendar because Friday June 11th is PING fitting day at Ralph Myhre!  Starting at 1 p.m. A representative and club fitters from both Ping will be on hand to help you find the perfect clubs for your swing! 

This is a fantastic opportunity to test out some of the hottest products in the market with zero commitment required.

GHIN Renewals Due Now

 

 

GHIN stands for "Golf Handicap and Information Network," which is a handicapping service provided by the United States Golf Association (USGA) to participating associations and clubs.

Golf handicaps are used in many tournaments and club events.  The two major reasons for establishing a handicap are for playing in any type of competition and to help you improve your scores. Even if you don’t play in the U. S. Open qualifier, there are many other events where you will need one.

With your help we hope to make it better than ever!  Mark your calendar now!  The Ralph Myhre Member/Member will be held Saturday and Sunday June 12 & 13 starting at 9 a.m. both days.  2 person teams will play 18 holes of best ball on Saturday and an 18 hole scramble on Sunday.  Flights will be based on the number of entries and the low player's handicap index and tee preference.  There will be skins and prizes, but best of all the entry will be just $20 for this year!

Friday Evening Golf Mixer - Is there any better way to kick off your weekend than with a 9 Hole Scramble each Friday Night Starting at 5pm.  Dinner and Drinks to follow at the Tavern on the Tee.  Must sign up at the Ralph Myhre Golf Shop each week by Friday at 4:30pm.

Men's Golf Team Sweeps NESCAC Major Awards

 
 

Senior Jordan Bessalel (Bethesda, Md.) was named the NESCAC Player of the Year, first-year player Colin McCaigue (Brookline, N.H.) earned rookie of the year honors, while head coach Bill Beaney was deemed the conference's coach of the year when the NESCAC announced its annual awards. Sophomore Hogan Beazley (Weybridge, Vt.) and senior John Mikus (Larchmont, N.Y.) also earned All-NESCAC honors. The group helped lead the Panthers to their ninth NESCAC Championship over a pair of events at the Ledges Golf Club in South Hadley, Massachusetts.

Men's Golf Wins Ninth NESCAC Title

 

The Middlebury men's golf team has won its ninth NESCAC Championship. The Panthers earned the title at the Ledges Golf Club in South Hadley, Massachusetts, with Amherst serving as the host school.
 
Middlebury sat in third place and trailed by three strokes after 18 holes of tournament play last weekend. The Panthers shot a tournament-best 304 to earn a two-day total of 607 to take home the title. Tufts and Trinity each tied for second-place honors with a 608.

Murphy Named First-Team All-NESCAC

Middlebury women's golfer Katie Murphy (Pleasanton, Calif.) has earned First-Team All-NESCAC honors. She accomplished the feat based on her two-day score of 160 at the NESCAC #1 and #2 championship rounds held over the past two weekends.
