It has been wonderful to see so many of you from all corners of the world this year either in person or online. As I write, the President Jane Clarke, and I would have just come back from our 3rd annual trip to SE Asia. This year, instead we moved online and just some of the highlights are below. As we look forward to forging ahead in 2020, please keep in touch, and keep an eye on our website for the latest news - we hope to welcome you again in person soon. From our Wolfson home to yours, best wishes Sian Cook Recent HighlightsDr Ahbi Veerakumarasivam In this recent interview, our friend and alumnus Dr Abhi Veerakumarasivam talks about his medical research and aspirations for developing impactful networks in the SE Asian region. We were recently able celebrate our President’s Circle, Morrison Society and other major donors virtually through music and conversations with students who are recipients of the generosity of your gifts. ASEAN Emerging Researchers Conference & South East Asia Alumni Mixer The ASEAN Emerging Researchers Conference was held virtually in November. The conference aims to create a platform for researchers from the ASEAN region and the ASEAN research diaspora to drive research excellence in the region. This collaborative virtual event between the Wolfson College Sustainability and Conservation (S&C) Research Hub and the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Emerging Researchers Conference featured speakers from Wolfson alumni and Sunway University. Find out more about the event here. We were also able to connect over Zoom and hear from four interesting and diverse alumni from the region during our mixer. We heard from alumni from the fields of medicine, sustainability, music and the arts. The President hopes to reinstate Wolfson's annual trip to the region next year.
