Fact sheets about Queensland’s Public Health Directions

The Queensland Government has released two fact sheets about the Public Health Directions issued by the Queensland Chief Health Officer on 22 August 2020.

Key points

  • The Queensland Government has released fact sheets on Public Health Directions for Disability Accommodation Services Direction (No. 1), and Movement and Gathering Direction (No. 3) Information for People with Disability.
  • Please read and implement the actions outlined in the Public Health Directions, and share the information on movement and gathering with the people you support and/or their families and guardians.

Queensland Government Public Health Directions (No. 1 and No. 3)

Further to our provider alert issued on 22 August 2020, the Queensland Government has now issued fact sheets on:

  • Public Health Directions for Disability Accommodation Services Direction (No. 1)
  • Movement and Gathering Direction (No. 3) Information for People with Disability.

Both fact sheets are available on the Queensland Government’s website.

Disability Accommodation Services Direction (No. 1)
The fact sheet on the Disability Accommodation Services Direction (No.1) [PDF 123KB] explains the Directions that apply from 8.00am on 22 August 2020. It also highlights the key changes that affect all shared disability accommodation providers in Queensland, as well as those that apply in specific local government areas in Greater Brisbane.

Please read and ensure you and your staff implement the actions outlined in these Directions.

Movement and Gathering Direction (No.3): Information for people with disability
The fact sheet on the Movement and Gathering Direction (No. 3) [PDF 90KB] contains information for people with disability. It explains the rules that are now in place in certain local government areas about how many people can visit them at home and how many people can be with them at one time when they leave their home.

The fact sheet also explains how people with disability can get access to PPE, and answers questions about how to take care of their physical and mental wellbeing during COVID-19.

Please read this information, and share it with the people you support and/or their families and guardians, to ensure they know what the current rules are and where to get more information or advice.
