EWA will also be holding a Special General Meeting following the AGM. The purpose of the Special General Meeting is to set out the proposed amendments to the EWA Constitution to ensure that it complies with new law known as the Associations Incorporation Act 2015, seeking Member approval by special resolution. MORE

EA & ZOETIS UPDATE

Equestrian Australia has announced that, in response to feedback from members, EA and Zoetis have mutually agreed to end the sponsorship agreement with immediate effect. MORE

SEMINAR
EA OFFICIALS FORUM & COURSE

Date: 23 & 24 June
Location: State Equestrian Centre
Cost: Promotion $75 (1 day and 1/2), Refresher $50 (1/2 day), Observer $25 (1 day)

This forum/course is for people interested in becoming an EA Official and current EA Officials needing to attend a Refresher Course for reaccreditation. Judges, riders and coaches are also welcome to attend to observe. The day will consist of presentations by EA National Medication Control Officer Dr Cate Plummer, FEI Steward General Chris Wallis and EA Officials Pathway Manager Di Saunders.

La Noir Saddleworld High Performance is excited to present a clinic with Lone Jorgensen. Lone is a Dual Olympian and elite dressage coach and regularly works with High Performance riders to success. Lone will also be presenting a Masterclass open to all dressage enthusiasts at 7:00pm on Saturday 21 April at the State Equestrian Centre. EWA would like to thank Anna Latto Equestrian for hosting Lone's visit.

DWA LEADERBOARD UPDATE

The 2018 Dressage WA Leaderboard is now available for Competitor Horse, Competitor Pony, Para-Equestrian, Participant and Adult Riders. The purpose of this Leaderboard update is to ensure that all results included are correct so if you do notice a discrepancy, please contact us with evidence supporting your request. MORE

PRELIMINARY LEVEL WORKSHOP

Cost: $99 incl. facility fee, lunch & morning tea (subsidised by the DDF fund)

Join fellow riders for a full day immersion to help lay the foundations of your horse's dressage career! This workshop will offer riders a good basic understanding of the Preliminary level from everyday training to competition. Includes a seminar, video and ridden demonstrations, test riding and judge feedback. Guest presenters include Hazel Hikins (A-level Dressage Judge, Mentor & Level 2 Dressage Coach) and Chris Sharpe (B-level Dressage Judge & Level 1 General Coach).

INTRODUCTORY JUDGES WORKSHOP

Eventing is a thriving sport in WA but event organisers often find it difficult to secure enough judges for their lower level classes. To help alleviate this, you are invited to become a Trainee EA Eventing Dressage Judge.

This workshop will cover the rules, open rule book test, the role of the judge and requirements of EA Eventing Tests, plus a Q&A session. Presented by PollyAnn Huntington (Judge Educator) and Elaine Greene (Mentor). Sponsored by Eventing WA and supported by EWA and the SEC.

OFF THE TRACK CHALLENGE

No plans this Friday night? Visit the State Equestrian Centre and watch the Careers in Racing Off the Track Challenge!

The Challenge is an exciting, fast-paced competition showcasing off the track horses competing in the 2018 Saddles Plus Interschool Festival. 5 fences are built in a zig-zag line down the centre of the arena and riders pick their own line with 40 seconds to jump as many fences as possible.

The 1.20m Secondary class starts at 6:30pm, shortly followed by the Challenge, so come down to the SEC and watch the horses in action. The bar will be open and a food van on site.

The WA Team selection criteria for the 2018 Australian Interschool Championships is now available on the EWA website. Riders will need to express their interest to attend by submitting an application form which will be made available shortly. MORE
