TLPC NORTH COAST NUMBER 3 DOMESTIC TOURISM LEADER


TRA snapshots for YR Ended March 2016 have shown that TLPC North Coast has increased visitor nights over 14%. This has pushed TLPC North Coast up to number 3 ranking in Australia again following Sydney (1) and Melbourne (2).


TLPC Hunter visitors have increased by 3.5% and TLPC Central Coast has maintained visitor numbers. Working on tight resources from industry to council partners, everyone across TLPC network is working hard, and together keeps on ensuring TLPC is fast becoming Australia’s most popular touring route.

 
 

TLPC INTERNATIONAL KEEPS ON GETTING BETTER

Since developing a sustained international marketing strategy for TLPC, the region’s international program is contributing significantly to the NSW visitor economy.

 

International visitors to the region have grown to 36.5% over the last three years and constantly each quarter with YR Ended September 2015 growing 7.7% and YR Ended December 8%.

 
 

TLPC DOMESTIC FLY DRIVE CAMPAIGN

TLPC Fly/Drive Campaign is underway and will continue until October. The destination awareness component has featured in market since early June with major activity across:

2 x giant digital billboards in Lonsdale and Spencer Streets Melbourne
Jetstar and Virgin Inflight Magazine advertorials and editorials
Gourmet Traveller full page advertorial
Artshub x editorial and on-line advertising
Mindfood editorial, advertising and e-newsletters
Concreteplayground – editorial and advertising
Digital campaigns across Melbourne office towers and cafes reaching up to 1.4 million per week
Facebook features and EDMs.

SOCIAL MEDIA: Throughout the destination awareness campaign reach on TCLP Facebook page to-date peaked at 28,435 with the most popular posts on Bowraville with 868 Likes and 1.3K comments and shares and another on snow covered Barrington Tops with a reach of 14.7 K and 567 Likes. Facebook total likes; 16,179; Twitter 1783 followers and Instagram 1875 followers.

 
 

TLPC AUSTRALIA'S MOST ACCESSIBLE TOURING ROUTE


With the constant upgrade to the Pacific Highway and new and interesting ways to physically access TLPC, a new page listing all transport options, from air to rail, is available.  It shows how to get to any of the destinations/experiences on TLPC.

 

From Harley Rides from A1 Coffs Coast Tours to 4WD tracks, this information is to show why The Legendary Pacific Coast is Australia's most accessible touring route.

 

 
 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND GRANTS

Destination Byron’s Annual Tourism Symposium will be held on the 12 August at Elements of Byron Resort. A range of workshops will be presented to help grow tourism businesses. Minister Ayres and Tourism Australia’s Managing Director John O’Sullivan will be keynote speakers. Click here to register

2016-17 Tourism Demand Driver Infrastructure (TDDI) Grants Program is open to bolster local tourism infrastructure projects across NSW. Project funding must be matched dollar-for-dollar by project organisers. For more information click here.

 
 

TLPC TOURISM AWARDS

The North Coast & The Legendary Pacific Coast Tourism Awards are in full swing with nominations closed on 1 July. 40 submissions will be judged over the next two weeks with finalists announced 19th July.

The Gala Awards dinner will be held at Cassegrain Winery, Port Macquarie on Saturday 30th July.
