Common respiratory illnesses like the flu, COVID-19 and RSV can cause serious complications, especially for young children, older adults, and those with existing health conditions. “Taking preventive action now can make a real difference,” said Dr. Azim Kasmani, Niagara Region’s Medical Officer of Health. “Staying up to date with seasonal vaccines, washing your hands regularly, and maintaining clean and well-ventilated spaces are simple but effective ways to reduce the spread of illness and protect those most at risk.” Residents are encouraged to get their seasonal vaccines as soon as they’re available. Vaccine availability may vary, so residents are advised to call ahead to confirm supply with their health care provider or pharmacy. Vaccine availability
