TLPC VISITOR SPEND IS UP

across the three regions for international visitors. Compared to December 2013, December 2014 snapshots show the Hunter up 14.3%, North Coast up 18.6%, and Central Coast up a huge 28%. Domestic overnight visitors spent $2.5 billion on the North Coast (up 5.8%),
$1.4 billion in the Hunter (up 8.2%) and Central Coast received over 1.3 million domestic overnight visitors (up 1.3%).

 
 

DOMESTIC MARKETING RESULTS & OPPORTUNITIES

from recent promotions include:

• TLPC Take a Breath of Fresh Air Wotif Campaign had great results generating an additional 4,115 room nights in two weeks.
• Melbourne CC Show had approx 53,000 attendees. While key destinations remained popular there was an increase of inquiries for pet friendly accommodation, free camping and scenic drives.
• Seniors Expo ACT in partnership with CanGoEverywhere had over 3000 attendees. Information about train travel/accommodation was highly sought after.

• Out and About with Kids Digital competition to support the printed promotion will feature on TLPC and OAWK social media and digital assets as well as a series of EDMs
• The current print and on line editions of RACQ’s “The Road Ahead” carries a two page feature on The Legendary Pacific Coast  focusing on a family road trip from Sydney to Brisbane

HIT IN CHINA & UPCOMING TRIPADVISOR CAMPAIGN

The DNSW China Mission was a success with TLPC meeting with 83 buyers. There are 8 Chinese distributors actively selling TLPC; these distributors will be part of a more targeted strategy over the next 2-3 years. A TLPC Trip Advisor campaign scheduled for 12 months commencing 13 April running in the UK, Germany, France, North America, Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand.  TLPC International Touring and Product Planner for 2015-16 is now available online The Planner has been produced in both English and Simplified Chinese and is available as an online Flipbook in English and Chinese.

INTRODUCING THE NORTH COAST & CENTRAL COAST/HUNTER ZONE MANAGERS

Tom Urban (pictured) is the North Coast Zone Manager and Jason Sacriz for Central Coast/Hunter Zone. They have been appointed by Destination NSW to manage Destination NSW efforts in relation to the development and delivery of a range of programs to assist stakeholders within the region including TLPC. Zone Managers will also assist industry to develop competitive applications to access the NSW Government’s regional tourism funding. Belinda Novicky Jason will be presenting in the Central Coast/Hunter from 1 May.  Tom and Belinda will be presenting Great Lakes to The Tweed from 8th May. TLPC PRODUCT SHINES AT 2014 AUSTRALIAN TOURISM AWARDS

Congratulations to Byron Beach Café for taking out Gold in the Tourism Restaurant and Catering Award. Three TLPC restaurants now have this outstanding commendation with The Corner (Port Macquarie) winning it in 2013 and Bent on Food (Wingham) in 2009. TLPC partner YHA won gold in Backpacker Accommodation for Railway Square. The Observatory Port Macquarie received a bronze for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism and Macquarie Waters Boutique Apartment Hotel a bronze in Deluxe Accommodation.
