Here's just a few things St. Paul's got up to in June...
We had the very succesful launch of the Worthing Farm Drop on Thursdays, with great produce from local farmer Sam from 'Station Farm', as well as some delicious meals from 'Love Food' and great cakes from 'Vice Puddings'.
Bartie's Boutique returned with a plethora of hand made crafts and goods. With stalls from local crafters 'Hope and Ted' and many more.
Worthing's first World of Words (W.O.W.) festival kicked off at St. Paul's. We were one of many venues in the town celebrating the work of different Authors and Poets. St. Paul's was celebrating the life and musings of Oscar Wilde. Throughout the week staff dressed in 1890's period clothing, comic book illustrator and author Jimmy Pearson came along and shared some knowledge and wisdom as well creating some unique Oscar Wilde themed Artwork, the star and director of 'The importance of being Oscar', Ross Muir and Mitch Jenkins, hosted a tea-time talk about creating the one-man show which is showing at The Connaught Theatre.
Alongside the W.O.W. festival we are hosting part of the Worthing Art Trail, with work being displayed from local artists; Rich Spicer
and Deborah Petch. The culmination of the Art trail will be with the 'Live!' show on the 21st, with an eclectic range of music from a number of local bands including Yumi and the Weather and many more (tickets available from www.seetickets.com).
So June was great, but below is what St. Paul's has in-store for July...

LINDA BERNHARD EXHIBITION
|
 |
| |
= THROUGHOUT JULY TILL FRIDAY 29th AUGUST =
Linda Bernhard, a 33 year old artist from Switzerland, began her career in the arts in 1996. After living in Jersey for four years, she moved to England in August 2005 to complete her education by studying a Fine Art Degree in Sculpture and a PGCE in the Creative Arts at Northbrook College in West Sussex. Currently she is employed at the same college as the Flexible Learning Assistant in the Fine Art Department. She recently completed her MA Fine Art Studies at University of Chichester. Linda is a resident artist at Worthing Art Studios.
Linda’s work is inspired by her everyday experiences, observations and surrounding environments. She’s interested in places, objects, creatures, journeys, memories and stories, rural landscapes and urban spaces. Her collages draw on innumerable sources of things she’s seen, read, or heard; becoming abstract representations of her own experiences. They express a love of colour, a sense of humour, and play with the boundary between abstract and representational.
Process is paramount. By combining photographs and found imagery, she creates new images based on personal experiences. Using a scalpel she removes elements that she considers insignificant and irrelevant; before layering the images to create environments that correspond with her everyday observations.
For more information and work visit her website www.lindabernhard.ch

"We each have what it takes to find healing.
The art of living is to experience what is happening in this moment and trust that we are already on our path to health.
Sometimes however what we are going through can be so painful and distressing that it is hard to believe any resolution can be found to our problems.
At these times we need a skilled helper who can shine a light into our darkness enabling us to explore choices for how we may wish to change our life script."
