Outdoors Queensland

Early Paddlers by Katrina Faccio

Hi there,

The big news at the end of March was the latest lockdown in Brisbane and what it meant for outdoor activities across Queensland. A few days ago we published a news story and eBulletin on the new restrictions - see HERE - and, today Thursday, April 1,  Queenslanders have just heard that the lockdown for Brisbane will be lifted from 12:00 noon today.

Some restrictions will remain however:

  • Mask Wearing, carry at all times and wear indoors, unless you have a lawful reason not to. It is strongly recommended you wear a mask when outdoors if you are unable to stay more than 1.5m distance from other people
  • Gatherings in people’s homes are limited to 30 persons in total, including the people you live with
  • You can leave your home for any purpose. You can travel anywhere in Australia.
  • Patrons at hospitality venues will be required to remain seated.

As has been noted many times, and despite the fact that generally Queensland has fared very well throughout the pandemic, it is still a long way from being over. So as you head off into your Easter break, while doing activities outdoors during April or just getting outdoors, please remain vigilant, do the right thing and keep yourselves and others safe.

Keep up the good work, be COVID Safe and ...

Live life outdoors
