Re: Update on Staffing at Calvary Ryde Retirement Community

From:  Bryan McLoughlin, Regional CEO - NSW & David Izzard, Head of People & Culture

The COVID-19 situation in Sydney is rapidly changing.

Given the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Sydney, the Australian Government currently requires workers at residential aged care facilities in impacted areas to limit their work to a single facility to reduce the risk of transmission and protect workers and residents. This may impact the staff working at Calvary Ryde.

If you work at any other residential aged care facility within the following Local Government Areas (LGAs) it is a requirement that you speak with Joseph or Amir, and complete a COVID-19 Employee Information Request Form:

  • City of Sydney
  • Waverley
  • Woollahra
  • Bayside
  • Canada Bay
  • Inner West
  • Randwick

We will work with you to find the best solution for you, while adhering to this government requirement and continue to provide the safest possible care to our residents at this time of heightened risk. Your Manager will provide you the opportunity to elect Calvary as your primary employer, and will request you complete a COVID-19 Employee Information Request Form declaring any additional employment outside of Calvary.

If you elect Calvary as your primary employer, Calvary will make every effort to provide you with additional shifts equivalent to the hours you would have worked with a secondary employer. If you elect an alternate Residential Aged Care Facility as your primary employer, Calvary will not be in a position to roster you until the Government Directive is lifted.

Initially this will be until 7th July 2021, however will be reviewed by the Australian Government during this time.
