Summer is upon us and momentum continues to build as Selkirk College looks ahead to celebrating 50 years of learning in the West Kootenay and Boundary regions. The college began the 1966 -1967 school year with 458 charter students based in Castlegar and has grown ever since. Join us for Homecoming Weekend set for September 16 to 18.

On Saturday evening of the Homecoming Weekend a Gala event called Through the Decades will be held at Castlegar Campus.

The Great Trek

Charter students spent their first semester studying at Celgar's bunkhouse as construction at the new Selkirk College campus wasn’t yet complete. The end of this time was marked with a parade, now known as The Great Trek, from the mill to the newly opened school.
