NATE UNITE 2017 - Optional CoursesMaximize your time at NATE UNITE 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas by attending additional courses all in one location. Participants must register in advance with a full conference registration pass and be employed by a NATE member company. All courses have a limited number of participants and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Competent Rigging Course – Maximum 40 Participants (Fee: $335) This course is fast-paced and not intended for new riggers, or those without previous training and experience. This course expects that students understand basic equipment use of: hardware, slings, rope, anchorages, and have the ability to solve basic mathematics and trigonometry. Previous rigging experience and use of synthetic rope is a requirement. This one-day course is being offered twice to allow for greater participation! RF Safety Awareness Course – Maximum 50 Participants (Fee: $160) Education is the key to a successful site compliance program. This course provides participants with best practices for RF safety. This training will help participants understand the required steps to compliance. Topics covered include: latest news and enforcement, steps to compliance, This course is being offered twice to allow for greater participation! Competent Rescuer Re-certification Course – Maximum 25 Participants (Fee: $65) Upon completion of this course, a Tower Technician that holds a current Competent Climber/Rescuer certification will receive a Competent Rescuer re-certification that meets the NATE CTS and ANSI Z 359 Standards requirements. Competent Rescuer re-training requirements are an annual requirement and are widely neglected as the Competent Climber retraining requirement is bi-annual. Attendees must bring their own climbing gear and will be required to present a current Competent Climber/Rescuer card prior to entering the event. This course is being offered twice to allow for greater participation! Medium Intensity LED & Xenon Training Course – Maximum 15 Participants (Fee: $75) This course will cover a range of information from installation to component-level diagnostics, programming and maintenance of xenon and LED lighting systems. Also provided are FAA lighting guidelines, comprehensive training manuals and trouble-shooting guides. This one-day course is being offered twice to allow for greater participation! Capstan Hoist Course – Maximum 40 Participants (Fee: $105) This course covers all aspects of inspection, set-up, operation/rigging, and maintenance of the Chance model 90 (Hubbell C3081170) 120 volt capstan hoist. The maximum line pull rating on this hoist is 1000 lbs. and is the most widely used and probably the most misused hoist in the telecommunications tower industry. Once the NATE room block has been filled, which could occur prior to Monday, February 6, 2017, the hotel will not guarantee availability.
