GROW WENT TO NEW ZEALAND!
Vaughn and Vicki had a wonderful time recently in New Zealand where approximately twenty participants representing different congregations across New Zealand plus one local Anglican Parish gathered together.
On Friday evening we spent our time laying a gospel foundation. We discovered why intergenerational ministry is important to children, youth, young adults, parents and the elderly and introduced the three GROW coaching cultural movement areas: Intergenerational Relationships, Intergenerational Faith in Life and Intergenerational Participation. The participants also had opportunity to think about their own context and church culture along with the needs they perceive present in their congregations.
On Saturday we delved into the GROW Coaching workshop - Do What Matters. This workshop helped congregations to think about the contextual deployment of GROW’s 10 guiding principles, connecting them with life in the Lutheran church.
We would like to thank our New Zealand brothers and sisters for their warm hospitality, especially Pastor Jim Pietsch for all of his organising and for hosting us in his beautiful home. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
