Creative Classes at the Flynn

Fall 2014

Whether your child dreams of signing on Broadway, dancing at Lincoln Center or wants to pick up some sweet Gangnam Style moves, they can learn to express their creativity this fall at the Flynn Center. Exposure to the arts helps kids build self-confidence. It is amazing to watch tiny tykes master music and up-and-coming Baryshnikov's express themselves through dance. Fall programs at the Flynn are enrolling now, and classes start the week of Sept 15!

Premium Programs

Kids of all ages can work their way through a variety of programs when they sign-up for one these performing arts classes. The Flynn has everything from dance to music to theater. Opportunities for kids to shine this fall include:

  • Music Together® (ages 1-5) where tots and parents (yes, dads too!) bond while making music.
  • Breakdancing (grades 4-8) is an intro to hip-hop dance with a real B-Boy that combines strength, momentum, balance, and best of all, creativity!
  • Kids Onstage! (grades K-2 & 2-4) where star struck youngsters explore acting and play-making.
  • Creative Dance/Ballet (grades K-2 & 3-5) channels your child’s boundless energy into expressive movement.
  • Fantasy Ballet (grades K-2) for kids who want to wear tutus and strut their stuff to fairy tale stories!
  • Acting/Improv/Broadway (grades 4-7) works on character building, comedy and musical theater.
  • Junior Show Choir (grades 4-6) for the Broadway babies who want to sing and dance up a storm!  Grades 7-12 can audition for the older Show Choirs too.
  • Jazz Music & Beginning Ukulele (teens) nurture musicians in small combos with lots of individual attention.

Bonus Info: The Flynn offers lots of escapist activities for adults too, whether you’re rekindling an old creative spark, or seeking yours for the very first time.  Dance, Acting, Standup Comedy, Voice, you name it, they’ve got a class for mom and dad too.
