TBG Announces New Director of Account Management: Josh Fisher!

TBG has promoted long-time TBG Senior Account Manager Josh Fisher, to Director of Account Management at The Berndt Group. Josh has been in the interactive industry as a project manager for over nine years, and he is a long-time TBG employee with a great knowledge of our business. He has led major projects, including TBG's 2011 redesign of the U.S. Government's largest medical-related site. We fully expect Josh to bring great improvements to our approach and to help TBG further optimize its business.

Redesigning the Creative Alliance at The Patterson’s Web Site for Baltimore, and the World!

It is a longstanding tradition at TBG to develop Maryland arts web sites pro bono or partially pro bono, which enables us to contribute to what we think is one of the strongest positive aspects of the region—its rich creative community. Not only do many TBG employees have activities outside of work in the cultural sphere, we are also by and large great consumers of the local vibrant and stimulating culture. One of the strongest organizations in the region along these lines, and a longstanding TBG client, is the Creative Alliance at The Patterson.

A Developers’ Proprietary Homegrown CMS? Hell for Some, Limbo for Others!

This entry would never have been written if TBG were not jolted recently into realizing that some web developers are still going to market with homegrown CMS "products" they have built internally—and that they are even promoting this as an advantage. There was a time in distant memory, say ten years ago, when this might have made some kind of sense. The growing need for distributed web content authoring and control in web sites was passing through a lean period where commercially available CMS products were still few in number, relatively incomplete out of the box, usually had tiny developer communities, and often were outrageously expensive.
