GreenWay Arts Prize

Dear Subscriber

I am always inspired by people who put themselves out there to try something new with a selfless goal in mind. Last week we opened our Gallery to 'Art for Others', an exhibition by first-time artist Shelley Mitchell as part of The Amazing People Project (TAPP). It was a  fabulous event that raised over $2000 for the five significant charities supported by TAPP. Take a look at the fundraising achievements of these Amazing People and be inspired too.

The many artists at Art Est. have also been doing amazing things. Five of our studio artists have come out from 'behind the wall' to exhibit their recent works in the Gallery so make sure you pop in before Tuesday to see the work. Paul McCarthy won second prize in the GreenWay Arts Exhibition and many of our artists are being exhibited and shortlisted for prizes. Read more below.

To celebrate the year in art, we have our Group Exhibition opening on Sunday 4 December - explore the studios, meet the artists, join in an art demonstration and plan ahead for your 2012 art course! Make sure you save the date and bring along your family and friends to share a little bit of Art Est.

The heatwaves in Sydney remind us that Christmas and the holidays are here soon, so we have now launched our summer program of art workshops for both kids and adults (but not at the same time!) And there is something for our corporate friends too, with fun art workshops - a creative alternative for your work Christmas party - call me to discuss the options!

I hope you enjoy reading our monthly e-news and that you like to tell your friends what's happening at Art Est. Remember to share the news by clicking on the icons at the bottom of this page to post on Facebook, forward to a friend or send as an email.

We also love it when you Facebook Like Button Art Est. too!

Look forward to seeing you on our Facebook page, or even better - in person at Art Est. again soon.

Kind regards

Jennifer McNamara, Director
