At Alaska Housing, we hear from our communities that homeownership can represent financial accomplishment, a feeling of stability or the foundation upon which to build a family and community. For many, it is a cherished dream. Employees at Alaska Housing are guided every day by our shared mission to provide Alaskans access to safe, quality, affordable housing. Part of this mission is to help make the dream of homeownership achievable for Alaskans. We do this by helping families find a firm footing through affordable public housing, by offering homebuyer education courses taught by knowledgeable experts, by providing mortgage and home renovation loans and through our residential energy efficiency programs. While there have been challenges to the dream of homeownership in the past few years, trends show that first time homebuyers are successfully returning to the market and that younger generations are increasingly choosing homeownership over renting. Alaska Housing is here to offer support to these new homeowners. We do so in collaboration with our partners in finance, homebuilding, mortgage lending and servicing. Homeownership is a process that starts long before placing an offer on a house and extends past the signing of closing documents. At Alaska Housing, we feel privileged to play a part in every step of that journey. — Bryan Summer Jobs for Young AdultsDo you know a young person hoping to earn money and gain work experience this summer?
