Call for young consultation leaders

The Commissioner for Children and Young People and YACWA are excited to be offering eight young Western Australians an opportunity to assist in undertaking a consultation with young people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Consultation Leaders must be 18 to 25, from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse background and available for approximately 30 hours work between June and September 2015.

Consumer protection for CALD youth

Luke Eaton - Community Education Officer at the Department of Commerce will present on the topic of consumer protection for CALD young people.

In this session you'll learn about the online and physical resources available in languages other than English regarding tenancy obligations in WA, shopping rights across Australia and avoiding scams.

What about working with youth?

A workshop that explores concepts, models and strategies for working effectively with youth from refugee like backgrounds.

When: Wednesday 3 June, 9.30am to 12.30pm

Where: ASeTTS Community Centre, 286 Beaufort St, Perth

Cost: NGO/ASeTTS’ Members - $100 Govt/Private - $150, Students - $50.
