Orientation WeekWe’re gearing up to welcome your student to Western with Canada’s best OWeek! OWeek introduces incoming students to many aspects of campus life while fostering peer connections and building a sense of belonging on campus and in the London community. It aims to facilitate a seamless transition to campus, providing the necessary resources to support student well-being and academic preparedness. We’ve designed OWeek to have programming at various intensity levels to make it easy for students to feel comfortable joining in. All official OWeek programming is included with the purchase of an OPass, which is automatically included in most students’ tuition fees. Here are some highlights:
Equity Deserving Student WelcomesFollowing Orientation Week, Student Experience will host a series of welcome events for students who identify as Black, Muslim, Jewish, 2SLGBTQIA+ and students with disabilities. These events will provide an opportunity for students to connect with peers who share similar lived experiences, build community, learn about campus resources and strengthen their sense of belonging at Western.
Mandatory Incoming Student TrainingHas your student completed their mandatory training yet? With September 9—the first day of classes—just around the corner, encourage them to complete both online modules before arriving on campus to help ensure a smooth start to their Western journey. All incoming students must complete:
Each self-paced module takes approximately one hour to complete. Students who do not complete the training by September 9, 2026 will have an academic seal placed on their records and will not be able to add/drop courses, obtain a transcript, or complete Intent to Register for the following year. The training
provides foundational guidance on respectful relationships, personal boundaries, and Western’s expectations for academic honesty.
Build Skills & ConnectionsLaunch Peer Mentorship Starting university is a big transition, but having connections can make it easier. The Launch Peer Mentorship Program connects incoming students with upper-year mentors who can answer questions, share their experiences and help them feel more confident as they begin university. Students can also access the Launch Lounge, a drop-in space where they can connect with other new students, get advice and discover campus resources and opportunities. Encourage your student to opt in and start building their Western community before classes begin. Learn2Learn The transition from high school to university comes with new expectations and ways of learning. Learn2Learn helps incoming students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed, with online lessons covering topics like time management, lectures, textbook reading and preparing for tests. Students can also attend optional in-person events to ask questions, meet other first-year students and learn about academic supports available at Western.

Mustangs Games: Admission to all regular-season Mustangs home games is free for Western students with a valid ONECard.
