Wash New Studio

Team

Effort

Wash have had the ultimate 'Spring Clean' this year with a complete studio move and launch of our new website... To say the stress levels haven't been high with all this progression and at the same time getting the work out for our clients, would be an understatement.

However, as usual the team really pulled together and everything went extremely smoothly.

The new space is working out really well now with having a more self contained environment. So you must come and visit and have a nice cup of tea.

Wash Studio Move

Another big change for us is we've teamed up with Because Studio within the new space, in the aim of working more closely together on projects in the future... a sort of co-operative thing.

Loz who runs Because Studio is the partner of Emma one of the Wash team and he's been freelancing with us on and off over the last 12 months, but Loz also has his own client base working predominantly with clients from the creative industries and not-for-profit sector.

He brings another brilliant dynamic to our studio culture that can only be a good thing... but not only have we teamed up with Because Studio we also welcome Rob who is 'This is Object'. An animator anorak who's skills are in animation, motion graphics and web development.

Rob has worked with Loz over the last two years and brings with him a fine range of vegan recipes, eighties pop and gluten free loaves.

To celebrate our new space, we are having a studio warming party. If by the unfortunate chance you got missed off the invite list, here it is again. Hope to see you all then:

Wash new Website

New Studio

New Us

With the opening of our new studio space we needed to get our new website launched. What an epic!!! What's all the fuss about you may cry..? But we have gone from a Flash site to a Word Press system. This meant re-presenting much of our past work. Re-photographing and re-writing... but we also wanted plenty of content on there to demonstrate our depth as an agency as we felt some people didn't fully understand what we could offer.

We hope this answers a few questions as we've done a complete U-turn this time around. We have had eight good strong years of progression from a standing start, so we wanted to celebrate this with a site that people can explore, in a time where blogs and twitters are just throw away news, we wanted a little more reflection. A great archive, not just for visitors but for ourselves... just to see how far we've come on this roller coaster journey of studio life.

Guardian Pensions

Guardian

Angels

Guardian Pensions were looking for a rebrand at the start of the year with a total overhaul of their marketing material.

The business is a young, vibrant team of professionals and predominately women who have an open and friendly approach to how they do things. This attitude to their market place in a slightly old school profession needed a brand to reflect their ethos... and inject an element of fun.

Once again turning to an illustrative option and working within a limited colour palette, the end result was very eye catching.

Bake

Aware

Another great branding project completed since our last news bulletin is this project for George Wilkinson - The Great British Bakeware Company.

This consisted of logo design/catalogue work, website and new photography, from product through to lifestyle. Brand development.

The company wanted to freshen their look but also get across their long history... and with the current trend of heritage, baking and cooking, what better time.

Liverpool Library

Time

Square

Our construction connections continued this spring with our latest project working with the Shepherd Construction team on the Liverpool Library re-build programme.

The first request was to wrap the building with some graphic content that would draw people in, as this area is a busy thoroughfare. As the building was closed for two years, they didn't want to lose too much footfall.

Our answer was an abstract pictorial journey, with artefacts from the Liverpool Library Archive and items we made from craft card. A historical timeline was overlaid in text of Liverpool history.

Conversations

In a similar vein to the BLAB events, Loz from Because Studio and Andy from Wash have become part of Conversations in Creativity. A series of debates, rants, talks etc that will start to run this summer. Keep an eye and come along for the ride.

Teesside High School

School

Perform

Teesside High School continue to build on their reputation, this time commissioning Wash to produce a 5 min DVD to go into the prospectus and website... and from this another 30 second TV advert for Tees Television.

Working at speed and to a tight schedule and budget as is usual with the school environment, we directed and produced some great footage... once again with the brilliant Cannon 5D Mark II.

dtec

Staff

Demonstrations

Over the last twelve months we've been working with the dtec brand and building the companies profile across Europe.

The most recent addition was adding to their image library with a set of generic images of product in action.

Shot at the Manchester demo rooms we used the dtec staff to keep a sense of realism, but stylised the shots in keeping with the new brand look.

Hotel

Refresh

Wash have been working with Hazlitt's in Soho since back in 2004... great place stay if you are in Londinium. At the beginning of April we completed a full re-build of their website with a new full content management site and new booking system... However, still with the same visual characteristics as before.
