Tasting Notes: Santa Julia Magna is a deep, lively purple-red colour with bluish hues. On the nose, a beautiful bouquet of black and red fruits such as cherries, cassis and blackberries mingle with aromas of vanilla, tobacco and chocolate from the 10 months of barrel aging. A silky beginning is complemented by flavours of red fruits and soft, balanced tannins. The wine is well-structured with a long finish.

Terroir/Region: Santa Julia Magna is one of the best examples of the unique style and variety that can be found in the soils of Mendoza. The grapes for this wine come from a high altitude of 890 metres above sea level in the Valle de Uco. The proximity to the Andes Mountains, the cold, dry climate and a wide diurnal temperature create an excellent growing region for this wine’s fruit.
Producer: Santa Julia is named after the only daughter of José Alberto, current director of Familia Zuccardi. The winery was created in Julia’s honour with the goal of reaching the highest standards of quality through sustainable practices. Santa Julia stresses the importance of caring for not only the environment, but the community in which it lives. The winery is certified ‘Fair for Life’, meaning that it follows strict guidelines for the quality of life for workers. Santa Julia provides a percentage to the workers as a commission to reinvest in their wellbeing for every bottle sold.
