IEEE-ISTO Announces OpenPOWER Foundation as its Newest Technology Partner

IEEE-ISTO recently announced OpenPOWER Foundation as its newest technology partner.  

The goal of OpenPOWER Foundation is to create an open ecosystem, using the POWER Architecture to share expertise, investment, and server-class intellectual property to serve the evolving needs of customers. 

“When technology leaders collaborate in an open ecosystem, such as OpenPOWER Foundation, industry as a whole reaps the benefit,” said Marco W. Migliaro, president and CEO, IEEE-ISTO.  “We are happy to support the OpenPOWER Foundation and its mission.”

IEEE-ISTO Director Yatin Trivedi Receives 2014 Accellera Leadership Award

Yatin Trivedi, IEEE-ISTO director, has been awarded the 2014 Accellera Leadership Award.

The award recognizes the vision, leadership and contribution to standards development, governance and promotional activities of the organization.

The award was presented at the Design Automation Conference during the Accellera breakfast meeting, 3 June.

Interconnect Modeling Technology Advisory Board Announces Electromigration Rules Now Part of the Open-Source ITF Standard

The Interconnect Modeling Technical Advisory Board (IMTAB), an IEEE-ISTO Federation Member Program, recently announced the incorporation of new electromigration (EM) rule extensions  to  Synopsys’ open-source Interconnect Technology Format (ITF), the de-facto modeling standard for integrated circuit (IC) interconnect extraction. The members, representing the broad semiconductor industry, have expanded the scope of ITF to enable both parasitic extraction for timing signoff and reliability analysis at advanced process technologies. The new EM extensions have been ratified by the IMTAB members and will be available in the upcoming open-source ITF version 2014.06.
