Dear Arriving T’22s,

Greetings from Hanover! It’s only a few short weeks before classes begin, and we are busy preparing for your arrival. For your safety, COVID-19 testing is required for all Tuck and Dartmouth College students. Some guidance about the testing process is below. Next week we will provide additional guidance for how quarantine will work, including food options during your arrival quarantine period and answers to common student inquiries.

COVID-19 Testing for Tuck Students

  • The MBA Program Office at Tuck is handling all scheduling for COVID testing. It is not necessary to call Dartmouth Health Services, as they will simply direct you back to us. If you are arriving to campus on or before August 9 and have not scheduled a COVID test, you can sign-up for a testing slot via the T’22 Arrival Survey. If you are arriving after August 9, please contact us and we will help you secure a slot.

  • At this time, we are scheduling your initial COVID test. All students will be tested twice at the beginning of the fall term—once upon arrival (day 0) and then again at day 7. We will reach out to you at a later date to schedule your second test.

  • The test will take place at Dick’s House, which is where Dartmouth College Health Services offices are located. Dick’s House is a quick 5–7 minute walk or 2 minute drive from Tuck. From Sachem Village, it is about 2.2 miles, or a 5–7 minute drive. Directions available here. Short-term parking will be available.

  • Testing will take place in a tent outside of the building. Please wear a mask and maintain a physical distance of 6 feet between yourself and staff or other students. At check-in you will need to provide your legal name, date of birth, and Dartmouth Net ID#, along with a picture ID.

  • The entire testing process should take roughly 30 minutes. The test itself is administered via a nasal swab of both nostrils. The swab is the size of a Q-Tip and goes midway up each nostril.

  • After the test is administered, you are free to leave and should return to your place of residence to continue your arrival quarantine period.

  • COVID test results will be available within 48 hours. If your result is negative, it will be delivered to you via the Health Services Portal. If your result is positive, a clinician will contact you by phone and advise you of next steps and appropriate action for self-isolation.

  • Even if your result is negative, you will need to continue your arrival quarantine of 14 days. This is a critical requirement for the health and safety of the Dartmouth community.

  • Tuck Partners can also be tested at Dick’s House if they are covered by the Dartmouth Student Group Health Plan. If a Tuck Partner is not on the Student Group Health Plan, we recommend reaching out to Clear Choice in Lebanon, New Hampshire for testing. Please note that Tuck Partners will need to be tested before they are permitted to enter Tuck buildings.

  • If you have urgent COVID-related questions outside of business hours (after 4 p.m. or before 8 a.m. ET), please call 603-650-5000. This number is to the Dartmouth–Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) 24/7 Communications Center. You should inform the Center that you are calling from Dartmouth and need to speak with the provider on call. Non-urgent COVID-related questions should be sent to Dick's House.

As we move toward the start of the fall term, each of our actions have the ability to shape the health and wellbeing of the entire Tuck community, as well as our neighbors throughout the Upper Valley. Thank you for your partnership in maintaining public health protocols.
