Winter News and Notes

Those looking to visit the splendors of Asia this summer can choose from several options as we look to offer multiple treks and a climbing school in India.

Alpine Ascents with their India based partner, Aquaterra, will be offering a glacier climbing school in the Himalayas this year. The program is designed for those based in India or those who want to visit the Himalayas and learn to climb. Details at:

Alpine Ascents will offer three treks this summer/fall in the Himalayas:

India’s Arunachal Pradesh region offers a remote, beautiful and true immersion into long time thriving Buddhist mountain area. Our trek is village to village (overnight in tents) culminating with a visit to Tawang Monastery – the world’s largest and most active Buddhist Gompa. More at:

Upper Dolpo Trek, Nepal

The corner of Nepal is where one finds the stunning high desert region of Dolpo. Once a closed area, Dolpo is the famed region of Peter Matthiessen’s The Snow Leopard and Alpine Ascents will help make this logistically difficult trek accessible to those with an adventurous spirit. A fantastic trip and rare opportunity  for both the new and returning traveler to Nepal. See more at:

Everest Base Camp

Always popular as the trip's always outstanding! Trek deep into the world's highest mountain range while visiting the monasteries and Sherpa communities of the Mount Everest Khumbu area. Famed guide Vernon Tejas leads the group, with stories of Everest climbs and the great mountains of the Himalaya. See more at:

Everest Base Camp Trek

Fantastic! It was everything I had hoped for and more! I wanted to thank you and Alpine Ascents for a wonderful trip to Everest Base Camp!  I wish I were back in the Khumbu! The itinerary was perfect! It allowed plenty of time to acclimate and I felt stronger as we got to higher altitude. Also, the folks you had on the ground in Nepal were fantastic! I’m used to handling arrangements while I travel by myself, so it was a great comfort (and a bit luxurious) to have someone there for me to take care of everything at all times. I especially like the side trip to Thame (Kami’s village) to acclimate further. Meeting Kami’s parents and spending time at the Monastery in his village was probably the highlight of my trip after being at Everest Base Camp. I have been very happy with the Alpine Ascents staff and programs thus far and look forward to future trips. - 2019 Trekker

Mount Baker

For those who have not yet discovered the glory of the Cascades, or for those in the know – we have spaces left on most of our Mt. Baker climbs. A stunning climb that appeals to both beginners and skilled climbers. The Alpine Ascents program will help keep your pack weight down to 35 lbs. as much of the gear will be up at our camp.  The entire trip was spectacular. Reaching the summit was exhilarating but only a portion of the fun. From registration to final check-in, the Alpine Ascents team did a great job. I have used multiple guide services in the past but this team ranks at the top of the list. –2019 Baker Climber

Aconcagua Dates Are Posted!

We have posted our 2020-2021 Aconcagua Schedule. See link below for more information.

From start to finish, my Aconcagua experience was world class in every regard. Our guides were remarkable leaders who offered the right mix of experience, expertise, and inspiration. Without them, there is no way that I and our other climbers would have successfully summited. I cannot overstate what tremendous assets they are to AAI and am so grateful for their leadership.   —2020 Climber
