Sarah Ford

Scholarship Deadline for Continuing Students

The deadline for many CGS scholarships is Friday, April 17, 2015. After that date, the scholarships open up to new CGS students.

Spring Term 2015

Friday, April 17: Last day for undergraduate day classes for spring term.

 

Saturday, April 18-Saturday, April 25: College of General Studies classes, Saturday College classes, graduate classes, and evening classes continue to meet during this period; final examinations should be held during the last scheduled class meeting.

 

Monday, April 20-Saturday, April 25: Final examination period for all undergraduate classes.

 

Saturday, April 25: SPRING TERM ENDS: Official date for degrees awarded in spring term.

 

Sunday, April 26: Annual Commencement Convocation

Summer Term 2015

Monday, May 4: Summer term enrollment period ends and classes begin.

 

Monday, May 11: Summer 12-week, 6-week-1, 4-week-1 sessions enrollment period ends and classes begin.

Featured Opportunities

Wyoming Field Studies

The University Honors College is offering a spectacular six-week, six-credit field course involving studies of dinosaur-fossil-rich beds, ancient prairie ecology, Native American archaeology, and much more. CGS students can explore, discover, and engage from June 22 through August 2, 2015.

A representative from the Office of Career Development and Placement Assistance will reveal careers pursued by recent graduates, potential job titles and employment areas applicable to the major, salary expectations, graduate school options, and general tips to help students break into their field.

Teresa Lane, Newman Award Awardee

CGS student and University of Pittsburgh staff member Teresa Lane was awarded the prestigious Newman Award for International Intergenerational Project Initiatives. The award supports programmatic development that enriches the lives of people in developing countries. Lane will be traveling to Bolivia in June to work with indigenous olders and children to write a trilingual children's book. Her humanitarian work extends to raising money to build a library outside of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, as well as other endevours to support the community and the people of Bolivia.

Commencement 2015 Details

All students graduating from Pitt this spring term are invited to particpate in the University's Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 1 p.m.

 

Attend Graduation Central to receive all of the information you need for this event, and to purchase your cap and gown which is required to attend.

CGS Graduation Reception and Recognition Ceremony

All CGS students graduating with a bachelor's degree should have received information about CGS' graduation recognition ceremony and reception. Please check your e-mail for information about ticket pick-up.
