The European lighthouse cities Vienna, Munich and Lyon as well as the follower cities Santiago de Compostela, Sofia and Venice come together in order to improve the quality of life of their citizens. Below you will find updates on the development of co-created and replicable Smart City solutions in 5 concrete areas: citizen engagement, district heating & renewable energy, holistic refurbishment, smart data and e-mobility. Smarter Together to Participate in Barcelona Smart City ExpoThis event, taking place on 19-21 November, will empower cities and collectivize urban innovation across the globe. Smarter Together will be there to join in on the important discussions and debates on the present and future of smart cities. Take a look to learn more! EU Smart Cities & Communities Meet in LyonSmarter Together Lighthouse city Lyon hosted the 8th event organized by the Smart Cities & Communities network. The two-day event focused around bringing together different actors and discussing common topics in working groups across the two-day event. For a more detailed summary, click here. From Lighthouse Cities NMS Enkplatz grand openingOn October 9, 2019, the school extension was ceremonially handed over with many celebrities and project participants on hand. Munich welcomes guests from all over the worldMunich was a busy place in September: Not only the Oktoberfest attracted numerous visitors from all over the world, but so did Smarter Together. Seven delegations from Europe, Asia and South America were guests in the project area to study Smart City solutions and to exchange ideas with local experts on various topics. For more info, click here. Smarter Together Lyon and Vienna Win AwardsThe work being done in the Smarter Together Lighthouse cities has been recognised internally, as well as beyond their borders. From Follower Cities Replication strategies of Smarter Together follower cities available for downloadSmarter Together’s mission is to provide smart and inclusive solutions in order to improve life in urban districts. The follower cities of Santiago de Compostela, Sofia and Venice have keenly observed the work of the lighthouse cities with an eye on replication. Smarter Together -Urban renewal in times of climate crisis21 November - Vienna, Austria The EU-funded project "Smarter Together" is the flagship project in the field of smart urban renewal. So far, 40 different individual projects have been implemented together with the local citizens in Vienna. The aim of the event is to discuss the experiences, highlights and innovations of "Smarter Together - Together G'scheiter." Click here for more information.
