Like Turkey, Thailand has now opened all borders & removed any entry restrictions just in time for the new season. Having recently moved to Phuket we have witnessed a very rainy season and are happy to see the sunshine and blue skies again!!
Despite the rain we did get to explore this beautiful sailing area and enjoy the sailing on offer.
Lots of fun was had when the UK Sky TV program "A League of Their Own" chartered one of our yachts for a couple of days with Jamie Redknapp, Micah Richards, Emily Atack & Jack Whitehall were the main stars and played around on the catamaran. They jumped on board & immediately enjoyed the welcome drinks and fruit platters, the fresh coconuts were a real hit as well as the music playing onboard. Who knew Jamie would like 'Luther Vandross" as much as us!!

3 DAYS SAILING IN THAILAND |
|
|
Our second trip was the Lagoon Escapade. A weekend rally around Phang Nga Bay.
We boarded the yachts at Ao Po Grand Marina, with a captains’ brief & a welcome reception. The day started overcast luckily the skies cleared as we headed into Phang Nga Bay & sailed to Koh Roi. After lunch & some fun with the water toys, we sailed on to Koh Yao Noi where we anchored for a relaxing BBQ & drinks on the beach.
The following morning started with a sail to Hong Island in Krabi province, where we enjoyed another leisurely afternoon of fun in the sun with kayaks, inflatables & water scooters. That evening we enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner at Melina’s Villas, with dancing on the beach & a spectacular fire show. A great way to spend Saturday night.
Our final day started with a pleasant sail back managing to avoid the rain clouds. Naka Island is only 20 minutes from the marina an excellent lunch stop before we headed back to our final destination.
