LaborWorkx Enhanced with Single Sign-on Access
Downtime Thursday, May 13 from 11:55 p.m. to Friday, May 14 at 4 a.m.Beginning Friday, May 14, you will no longer need a password to log in to LaborWorkx, making it easier for you to navigate between systems you use every day. The application is being enhanced with single sign-on functionality, so if you’re connected to the HM network, you're automatically logged in when you go to LaborWorkx. You may see the login screen for a few seconds, but you don’t have to do anything. The system will log you in. If you use a shared computer, ensure you log out completely when leaving the computer. For IT security purposes, don’t save login credentials to your computer. To
make this change, LaborWorkx will experience a brief downtime Thursday, May 13 from 11:55 p.m. to Friday, May 14 at 4 a.m. During this time, LaborWorkx will not be available. Badge readers will be available, but not QuickBadge. Before the downtime, be sure to print any required items. If you have issues logging in, you may need to clear your browsing history and cache. For assistance, please follow these instructions. For questions, contact HR Hub at 832.667.6211 or hrhub@houstonmethodist.org.

Major U.S. Pipeline Shutdown Due to CyberattackColonial Pipeline, one of the nation’s largest pipeline operators, had to shut down its network due to a ransomware cyberattack that took place over the weekend. The FBI has formally blamed a relatively new criminal group believed to have roots in Eastern Europe for disrupting the flow of nearly half of the gasoline and jet fuel supply to the East Coast. “We are engaged with the company and our interagency partners regarding the situation,” said Eric Goldstein, executive assistant director of the cybersecurity division at the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, or CISA. “This underscores the threat that ransomware poses to organizations regardless of
size or sector. We encourage every organization to take action to strengthen their cybersecurity posture to reduce their exposure to these types of threats.” As always, we must not let down our guard either. Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious emails using the Phish Alarm button or by following these instructions: - Desktop/Laptop: Click Report Phish – Phish Alarm button on the Outlook toolbar (automatically deletes the email).
- Mobile: Tap the three dots by the sender’s name and tap the envelope icon at the
bottom of the screen (automatically deletes the email).
- Apps Center: Forward email to spamspotting@houstonmethodist.org.
- Webmail/Office 365: Select the email. In the preview pane, click the three dots. Scroll down and click Report Phish.
