Why do we call the bird shown here "Robin Redbreast?” Clearly, the plumage is orange. The term originated in the 15th century when it became popular to give birds human names. Orange, as a colour, was not adopted into the English language until the 16th century, when the fruit called an Orange was introduced.
RTOERO
WebsiteAs part of H&W’s extensive rebranding work for RTOERO, we were delighted to help them with design direction for their new website. Working with RTOERO’s Marketing & Communication and Development teams, we designed a series of core templates and modules which features our new vibrant colour palette, an iconography system, and branded photography. The newly-launched site contains a wealth of information on RTOERO’s services, membership benefits, and local districts. The site is bold, yet warm and inviting. A perfect reflection of RTOERO! University of Toronto Mississauga
M MagazineThe latest issue of M, the magazine for the University of Toronto Mississauga, is focusing on growth. Growth in its many forms. The main feature looks at the expansion of UTM’s Robotics Lab. Working closely with illustrator Wenting Li to create the cover and interior imagery, we were able to add a dynamic human essence to the publication. The other two features concentrate on telling the story of the growth and expansion of UTM’s Erindale Campus, for which we created a visual timeline, as well as the ongoing research being done by the institution’s Child Development Lab. The cover article that we created for the HSC Review about Bob Young, owner of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, has won a Silver in Best Art Direction: Single Article category.
