This newsletter is to help inform our community on the District’s progress on the voter‐approved Measure X bond. The improvements made possible by this bond will fund capital improvements that will preserve quality education for years to come. Citizens’ Bond Oversight CommitteeThe Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) held its first meeting on June 25, 2019. This committee is responsible for ensuring that bond proceeds are expended only for the purposes set forth in Measure X, with quarterly meetings open to the public. The next CBOC meeting is scheduled for: Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 6:00 PM The CBOC's meeting schedule and agendas are available here: San Benito County Campus - Status UpdateThe Steinberg Hart architectural firm has been hired to develop the educational program and planning for the San Benito County Campus. A District subcommittee is being formed to oversee the design of the campus. The civil engineering firm Ruggeri-Jensen-Azar (RJA) is developing a site survey and topographic plans, as well as the required infrastructure for the new campus. Request for Qualifications and Proposals (RFQ/P) for San Benito County Campus Project Management Services The District is currently advertising a bid for Project Management Services for the San Benito County Campus. This Project Manager will be dedicated solely to the development of the San Benito County Campus. Responses must be electronically submitted at the District’s PlanetBids portal no later than 4:00 PM (PT), on October 10, 2019. Michael Renzi selected as new VP of Administrative Services at Gavilan CollegeMichael John Renzi has joined the administration of Gavilan College as Vice President of Administrative Services, filling the vacancy created by the June retirement of Fred Harris. Mr. Renzi brings a background replete with military, business, and education experience.
