Abu Dhabi-based Center Will Develop Programs with ADL to Promote Coexistence
On MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe,’ UAE Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba and Anti-Defamation League (ADL) CEO Jonathan Greenblatt discussed the recent launch of the Manara Center – an organization that will promote coexistence and combat intolerance across the Middle East and Africa.
The Manara Center was established with ADL as its flagship partner to help implement key educational programming. Drawing on expertise in youth engagement across the region, the Center will work to dispel stereotypes, while fostering greater social inclusion and acceptance.
Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan Meets With US Counterpart Jake Sullivan
UAE National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with his US counterpart, Jake Sullivan, at the White House earlier this month. The two officials discussed the enduring UAE-US strategic partnership and a range of global and regional issues, including the shared goal to build a more integrated, prosperous, and stable Middle East region.

This Month in History
Five years ago this month, the UAE Embassy in Washington, DC hosted an iftar for athletes who would go on to participate in the 2019 Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi. The attendees participated in the traditional breaking of the fast and learned more about the values of Ramadan.
The 2019 World Games in Abu Dhabi was the largest humanitarian and sporting event of the year and the first Special Olympics World Games ever held in the Middle East and North Africa. 7,500 athletes from more than 190 countries competed across 24 Olympic-style sports at the event, which attracted more than 20,000 volunteers and an estimated half a million spectators.
