May the Force be with you, Yoda

May the Force be with you, Yoda

Two Oceans Aquarium staff recently bid bon voyage to a rehabilitated green turtle, affectionately known as Yoda.

Yoda was released back into the ocean in warm water some 15 nautical miles off Cape Point after eight months in rehabilitation at the Aquarium, having washed up on Melkbos beach in June 2013, weak and dehydrated.

Waddle for a Week: 10 to 15 March 2014

Are you ready to get your waddle on? Join us for the annual Waddle for a Week, raising awareness for a good cause – the plight of the endangered African penguin.

Members of the public can join our waddlers as they journey from Gansbaai to Simon's Town over a period of six days, from 10 to 15 March. The final day will see a big gathering of supporters at Boulders Beach. Read more.

Ocean Basket sponsors a school visit

Ocean Basket sponsors a school visit

Ocean Basket is a strategic partner of the Two Oceans Aquarium and recently sponsored a visit to the Aquarium for learners of Itsitsa Primary School. The learners got to enjoy the top-quality facilities at our Environmental Education Centre for a fun day of learning.

More than 50% of the group had never seen the ocean, and none had set foot in the V&A Waterfront. Read more.
