![]() ![]() November 2019 Orange DamThis is the Ayakita Dam in Japan. Constructed in 1960, it's a fine example of an arch dam built in the Brutalist architecture style. Arch dams are known to be effective designs to withstand earthquakes. We like their choice of orange for the dam’s command centres and attached orange flood gates. ![]() We are proud to dedicate this issue of “Orange” to RTO (formerly the Retired Teachers of Ontario), Canada's largest insurance provider for education community retirees. ![]() RTO is a national thought leader, advocate, research funder and service resource spanning the demands of health, wealth, mental and social well-being, not only for its members, but for seniors in general. RTO has a unique mandate that develops and delivers benefit programs, pension support, group travel, advocacy on social, political and economic issues, and social engagement. ![]() ![]() For the past two years, it has been a rare privilege to work with an incredible team on a comprehensive brand revitalization for the organization. H&W and brand strategist Mary Jane Braide, worked with RTO’s Board, leadership, staff, foundation, communications and marketing team, and district leaders to bring the revitalized brand to life. ![]() ![]() The brand was built with input from the full membership through surveys, workshops, forums, and close working groups.
