You'll always be part of Portsmouth. It’s hard to think of a time when health was in sharper focus. COVID-19 continues to affect us all. What the future holds – what ‘normal’, ‘healthy’ look like - remains to be seen. Research, teaching and community health leadership is nothing new at Portsmouth. Every day, our academics add to the understanding of health challenges, including COVID-19. And every day, our students and alumni set a course to help the many people grappling with these challenges. The pandemic reflects the complexity of ‘health’, its many faces, from disease - mental and physical - to policy and practice. It shows us the impact of inequity on health outcomes. It asks us to consider all those who suffer from chronic conditions, including the ones who’ve taken a backseat to COVID over the last year. This edition of your alumni newsletter shines a light on health. Don’t miss the breakthrough study that could make early Alzheimer's diagnosis a reality; or the stories of incredible alumni making a difference, at home and abroad. We wish you good health!
