January , 2013

MLK Day of Service and Learning

Story telling in a downtown barbershop, lunch at Our Community Place, a walking tour of the northeast neighborhood and input by Shane Claiborne were all part of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and Learning at EMU.

Celebrating a Bible’s birthday

The King James Bible is having a birthday… 400! And EMU is one of only 40 libraries across the United States, and the only one in Virginia, to host a unique exhibit . The exhibit -- “Manifold Greatness: The Creation and Afterlife of the King James Bible” – opened in Hartzler Library January 26 and will remain open through February 21.

Fall student recognitions

Each semester students are honored for academic achievements through the Dean’s List and in a special recognition chapel. See who you know on the lists!

Parent communication in a crisis

EMU’s Crisis Management Preparedness Team meets monthly. The group reviews safety procedures, plans drills and educates the campus community about what to do in various crisis situations. In the event of a crisis, parents will want to visit the special crisis page for parents.
